Blue Monday in Studio
Bitterly cold today. Another excuse to experiment in studio. I’ve been working to dial in new studio strobes and modifiers over the past month. Today, I decided to work with old gels I had laying around and a few cuttings from the yard. Keeping light off the main subject created a simple form silhouetted against the gray background gelled in blue/green. I used a tight grid and cinefoil to narrow the light around the subject.
Next image was the same process with the addition of a diffused speedlight with MagMod Grid off camera left preventing light spill on the background.
Images shot with Nikon full frame, Nikkor 105mm macro teathered to CaptureOne. Minor post processing in ACR, Photoshop, and NIK Color Efex.
