Creative Motion in Landscape Photography

Ohio nature photographer Vince Nobel will lead an instructional tour to explore the intimate side of nature at Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio.   This program is designed for intermediate level photographers with the desire to improve their skills beyond the basics.  The main focus will include developing a comprehensive  understanding of image creation.  We will focus on sound technical and creative aspects to allow for the consistent creation of successful and beautiful images.

Specific areas of discussion will include but not be limited to the following:

Equipment  - cameras, lenses, tripods, filters, and best use practices for each.Lens selection and their various uses. 

Camera functions and their creative use in regard to aperture,  shutter speed, and ISO.

Composition and lighting techniques for realistic and abstract images.  Working with shutter speed,  depth of field, background, and selective focus techniques, natural light, and water reflections.

The overall the goal will be to learn and have fun!  Photography is a true art form and a life long process of exploration and learning.

We will visit many waterfall locations in the park including Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and Old Man's Cave.  While visiting each locations I will give group and individual instruction, which is why I'm limiting the group size to only 8 participants.

Requirements: Digital SLR Camera and tripod.  ***TRIPOD - sturdy (non shaking) in working order ***

A basic understanding of manual camera functions to include, aperture, shutter speed, iso, and white balance.  You'll also want to bring sturdy hiking boots, weather appropriate attire (rain gear), snacks and a positive desire to learn.
